Is this self-driving?
No. This is a driver-assistance system — like a much better version of the cruise control and lane-keeping your car might already have. You must stay attentive and ready to take control at all times.
What exactly does it do?
It keeps your car centered in its lane, maintains a safe following distance from the car ahead, handles stop-and-go traffic, and can assist with lane changes. On supported vehicles, it can also handle stop signs and traffic lights in experimental mode.
What is the Comma 4?
It's a small computer made by Comma.ai that mounts to your windshield behind your rearview mirror. It uses cameras and AI to understand the road and assist with driving. Consumer Reports rated it the #1 driver-assistance system.
Will it get better over time?
Yes. The system receives over-the-air software updates via WiFi or cellular. Comma.ai actively improves the driving AI with data from their 20,000+ user community.
About Installation
How long does it take?
About 1.5 to 2 hours including installation, setup, your personalized walkthrough, and a test drive.
Does it permanently modify my car?
No. The device mounts to your windshield with adhesive and connects to your car's existing camera system with a plug-in harness. It can be removed at any time, returning your car to its original state.
Will this void my car warranty?
No. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits manufacturers from voiding your warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part.
Can I move it to another car?
The Comma 4 device works across vehicles. You would need a different wiring harness ($99) for each vehicle.

Why does it cost $2,000?
The price includes the Comma 4 device ($999 retail), a vehicle-specific wiring harness ($99), professional installation, software setup, a personalized walkthrough, a supervised test drive, and 30 days of support. Buying and installing yourself saves money but requires technical comfort with vehicle wiring.
What's the payment structure?
You have two options: Cash pay with a $500 deposit when you book and $1,500 balance on installation day, or finance for as low as $80/month through Affirm or Klarna.
What if I don't like it?
The Comma 4 comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee from the manufacturer. If you're not satisfied, we'll help you arrange the return.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer financing through Affirm and Klarna, with payments as low as $80/month. You can apply during the booking process.
Safety & Insurance
Is this legal?
The Comma 4 is a consumer electronics device, not a vehicle modification. However, windshield-mounted devices are subject to state and local regulations. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with your local laws.
Will my insurance cover me?
Contact your insurance provider. Comma.ai states that no insurance providers have rejected coverage for their users, and many insurers recognize the safety benefits of driver-assistance systems.
Has anyone been hurt using this?
There are no documented fatalities or high-profile crashes associated with the Comma system. Like all driver-assistance systems, safety depends on the driver remaining attentive.
